Hi..Currently I am doing research about heating element for sealing machine of Polyphenylene ether (PPE) rice bag. Below are my questions:

1) Is it possible using stainless steel heating element compared to nichrome?
2) What is the comparison of advantages and disadvantages between stainless steel and nichrome heating element?
3) Can you suggest the best material of heating element for PPE material with affordable cost?

I have used stainless steel heating elements in plastic bag sealers before. As a thin strip.
Stainless steel is cheaper.
The resistance of stainless steel is not constant with temperature, nichrome is much better in this respect.
Stainless steel is not good at high temperatures (red heat) but a plastic bag sealer should not run as hot as that.

Thank you JDT for your opinion. The problem of stainless steel is it easy to burnt out when I try to increase the pressure and temperature of the sealer. Btw, thank you again
