Headlights fix on Jeep?

I have my sister’s 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland (fancy model) and the bright headlights just stopped working. Stalk controlled, forward or backward do nothing now. Nor will the dash icon that says high beams enabled. I don’t think this one has the usual relay system…(this from a Jeep forum:
“The switch sends a signal to the Steering Column Control module (SCM) . The steering column control module sends a CAN bus message to the TIPM or BCM to turn the high beam on.”
And:
“High beam is produced by lowering a shutter inside the lamp. This shutter is solenoid activated, meaning when you select high beam, you're just activating a solenoid, shutter moves down so the bulb can throw a full beam at the optics. Shutter in position blocks half of the beam, producing low beam.”
A new column switch assembly is approx. 600-900 dollars and if dealer does the work, likely approx. another 5-600. I can install myself but it’s a little tricky having to remove steering wheel, airbags, etc. (This thing has been a money pit for her so far, and too upside-down to trade it.)

So, do you think it’s feasible to somehow tap into the wiring to trigger the brights? Nothing out there in Net land of anyone trying but I just wondered…

Of course, I need to do further research to ensure the switch is actually at fault…numerous posts/ videos identify it as the problem on theirs…but…may have to find Jeep dealer to at least test…
And, after getting a pic of it to compare with new ones, another net search shows some possible options around 350-400 dollars…

Awe, I was going to say that! Also, check for loose plugs or damaged wiring. Eliminate the simple fixes before you start throwing money at a problem.
Yes, I’ve searched those areas and all looks fine. Even “jostling” wires/bundles around and no changes. Drove it earlier tonight to try and see if anything changes, but none. For sure I don’t want to spend a bunch just yet…

Your best bet is going to be find someone with a scan tool to connect to it. Most modern vehicles report the status of all switches and you should be able to see if the BCM, steering wheel, or whatever is registering the switch correctly. I don't know if the parts stores can do that with their scanners, but it may be worth a shot. I am going to guess they are limited to just pulling codes though.
