Hakko 472 desoldering pump adding a Aoyue B1003A desoldering Gun.. Can it be done.

I came across a 110V Hakko 472 Desoldering station missing the Gun. As you probably know the gun cost quite a bit so I was looking for a less expensive solution. The Hakko has a female 6 pin connector. The desoldering gun for a Aoyue B1003A Gun has a 6 pin female. I am trying to figure out could I adapt this Gun to he Hakko. The guns for Hakko and the Aoyue B1003A have the same 24 volt specs. and I believe the same wattage. Would anyone have an idea if the wiring would be the same?
Yes, I know this is a strange post. Im really hopping someone can help..

I do have and use the same de soldering gun.
It's been sitting in storage due to suction issue. I managed to replace the pump diaphragm with something I found in LCD Panels.
Since then it is working fine.
I can get the pin out from it but not at this moment. Since we are on lockdown due to Covid-19. The gun is in the workshop.
Once this thing is over I can help you with this.

1st thanks again. I took a look at my 8 pin Aoyue gun and not the same at all but I striped it down and looked at the wiring. Easy to figure out.. I know have the gun trigger working and the heater but the Temperature is not controlled.. The Hakko base had all marked on the PCB so that too was easy to figure.. The Gun sensors did go to 2 &4 and the Heater pin 1 &3 but in the Hakko manual it says the resistance should be 9.2ohms for the heater and 54 Ohms for the sensor. I have 10 for my heater but only 19 for the sensor. Any ideas how I might resolve this? Regards..

I do not remember the specs of the hakko gun.
Does your gun heats up atleast to some extent or it overheats?

Put the gun tip in a flame, and measure the voltage or resistance of the sensor, noting any polarity , and do the same for the Hakko, compare the difference.

I did this for the Hakko and Circuit Specialists irons, and noticed that the Hakko reversed their connections on the sensor pins, so I put a change over switch on the soldering station so I can use any irons.

Your saying there is a polarity to the sensor???????

If it uses a Thermocouple Yes, if it's a Thermistor no.

Circuit Specialist irons use a Thermocouple, i think Hakko use a Ptc Thermistor..

I believe Hakko does use a PTC Thermister so the Hakko Station 472 would not work with the Aoyue Suction Gun as it has a thermocouple.. What I am thinking is finding a Temp controller circuit that would work with the Aoyue Gun and incorperate it into the 472 station.. Any other ideas DodgyDave?

If it over heats the sensor is different.
I dunno which type the 472 has but the original hakko soldering gun I had uses a thermistor embedded into the heater.
The fake hakko ones I got uses a thermocouple. I did had an overheating issue with a replacement.

There is an older thread of mine where I made a circuit for it. As I recall it has a 50Ω thermistor

I have a Circuit Specialists solder station, they use thermocouple, I tried it on the Hakko 936 PCB, it only works if you reverse the sensor input wires on the plug or socket.. It's probably the same with the Aoyue irons.

I believe the zd-985 is a clone of the 817
