we are the only folks here with that old a card..erhaps, nobody uses an AGP now.
Worse, my slot limits it to 4x ..but this 256 GPU has never disappointed me in the games I wanted to play.

 

yea buddy ..it plays all popular pc games smoothly under low resolutions

 

My lappy runs the Intel GMA 950 graphics core on the 945 chipset. My custom built PC has the GeForce 8800GT. I'm not a gamer (I leave that for the Wii!) but it sure helps with image visualisations.

I bought a GeForce 8800GT 512MB card about a month ago and it failed, but it was good while it lasted. I took it back and exchanged it for a much cheaper Ati low-end card, since I don't play games anymore.

The only real graphics intense stuff I do is FEM.

I take it you've got a load a RAM with that too.

I have an FE-model running at the moment sapping 13.7GB of memory. FE is great, but you need a beast of a machine to get solutions to even moderately large models.
