He said that Mr Fernandes was taken to hospital with a fractured chest and a fractured skull but was now stable and 'feeling much better'.
Had a tire come off the pickup truck I was riding in when I was about ten. It came off the driver's rear, bounced off the median, and then flew across three lanes of heavy traffic on the 50 mph road, to end up in a field adjacent to a crowded store and parking lot. Amazing that no one was hit by it could have caused a lot of damage and injury/death in the resulting pileup.

This one made the rounds a few months back. Apparently the driver of this Kia survived. I certainly wouldn't want to be a passenger. Then there's the double tap when the tire catches up.

The Viral Story About a Defendant Driving With a Suspended License Was Fake News
We, as a society and especially in the US, seem to love a good story about the idiot out there who is decidedly dumber than ourselves. The first time I recognized this was with the Howard Stern show. I knew that they pre-screened his callers so it wasn't a stretch to believe that they screened for the dumbest (or the most drunk, high or whatever) callers. This way Howard could verbally trample them and come out looking like the smartest guy ever. They never allowed debate champions through. It wouldn't have drawn listeners and would have been quite boring.
Personally, I tired of Howard Stern very quickly. Yes there are stupid people out there. I don't need to listen to some smartass making fun of them. The same goes for this video. It was just red-meat for those who, as I said earlier, "...love a good story about the idiot out there who is decidedly dumber than ourselves."
I like this forum because it's a collection of people who are both smarter than I am and not as smart as I am. I like to offer what I can to help those who need it AND I like to read about some of the stuff that the smarter than I am people are doing. Occasionally, I peak at "Only in Florida", "Glad I'm not a passenger" and some of the other off topic threads, I can't say that I'm particularly enthralled...

Howard Stern is a pretty smart guy, but you're spot on on calling him out as debating coward. I hold that SOB directly responsible for the death of Dana Plato. She certainly died because of her own actions, but Stern pushed her over the edge.

I am glad Mr Harris' has been vindicated. This has been a lesson to always hold our judgement until all of the facts have come out. And even then, I'm sure there are cases out there aplenty in which someone is paying for crimes they didn't commit. It's a situation as old as the history of justice itself. That is why I have the highest respect for true and authentic Judges of the law, Keeping oneself detached and impartial while administering justice is not an easy feat. We're all humans after all.

Gov. Hochul ditches hated congestion pricing plan in stunning reversal over economic fears: ‘New Yorkers are struggling’
Congestion pricing — which was pitched as a way to reduce city traffic, raise money for public transit and improve air quality — has been slammed by both parties as a “cash grab” that will drain even locals who don’t own cars.

The plan sparked a flurry of lawsuits — including a recent filing from the Trucking Association of New York that denounced the extra tolls for big rigs as “excessive.”

It was not immediately clear how the indefinite delay would impact the MTA’s $507 million infrastructure deal with TransCore, which had already installed license plate cameras to enforce the new pricing.

The delay was met with cheers from some of the toll’s biggest critics on both sides of the aisle.
In a former alternative universe Gov. Kathy Hochul touts the benefits of congestion pricing.
