NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (LEX 18) — A car crashes and flips outside of a Nicholasville Wendy's, and both the driver and the passenger involved claim they were kidnapped by the other.
Officers were called to the Wendy's on Main Street at around 2:30 p.m. Monday. Police say the car is not registered to either person, but they don't believe the vehicle was stolen at this time.

I'm amazed at how strong that airframe is. I've only spent a little time on carriers (Coral Sea and Nimitz) in a TAD capacity. but we've all seen the crash videos shown to fire-crews.Good video, I have seen Mooch before. I have been there and done that during my days as a "Civilian Component of Department of Defense" having completed two (then first two) deployments of the USS Eisenhower (CVN 69) AKA the Love Boat. Watched an F14 do a ramp strike, bounce across the deck. The pilot ejected safely but his RIO hit the canopy just like Goose in the movie Top Gun. Things don't always go right. My best guess here is pilot error but then too I wasn't there. Looked like he saw the waveoff and tried to pull left but too late and not enough power. The improvements the guys in the video talked about are phenomenal in the ACLS (Aircraft Carrier Landing System). Fond memories of 40 years working in NAVAIR and NAVSEA (Nuclear Navy).
First Cruise I am 3rd from left. Technical Reps.
Second Cruise 4th from left up one from bottom.
So been there and done that.

Yea, sometimes the planes just don't want to land. Both night. The night recoveries were always spooky. I uses to go down to the jet shop right below the flight deck and watch recovery ops. That gets real spooky.

The trucking company or the trucker might get dinged for a broken or rusted Jane Mansfield bar (aka ICC bar).
It's amazing how good the click-bait fishermen are at photoshop.Yeah, I know it's photoshopped ... but it's funny nevertheless ....
These guys almost look like some strange Photoshop.
They can be unstable at high altitudes.11 years ago
I'm at a detachment of the unit that operates that very helicopter (yes, it's flying again). Wind shift was not the problem. The engines did not fail, but were not making enough power to climb and steady hover. It went up fully fueled (3,700lbs. full on the ground). In trying to maintain stability collective was pulled and the main rotor lost speed and lift.
A 10-page memo was reportedly made listing the faults. Nobody, presumably for fear of adding their own name to the future death toll of the mission, would take the memo to leader Leonid Brezhnev.
