But what does that have to do with it being an EV?
I'm pretty sure that my 7500 lb 1988 pickup would have produced similar results.
That's the point, EV batteries are as heavy as a large pickup even in small packages. The KE at impact will blow though barriers designed primarily for family cars. There are a lot more of them than 1988 pickups on the road. Maybe an upgrade of barriers is needed to keep road safety at the level needed.
As shown here, the highest density mass component of the car didn't stop at the roof. The engine ripped out of the bay and flew over.
With an EV, that mass is an integral part of the frame, so the entire car tends to keeps going.

Classic hit-hit-hit-hit-hit and run (a truck hit them). Poor guys with BMW's in front were just leaving the local Ukrainian church. None of the cars will start.

Likely the fuel cutoff switch. I'm gonna guess the tow truck driver could have figured it out, but a tow makes more money than pushing a reset button and sending the customer on his way.
I saw a similar crash, 5 cars accordioned in the middle lane of I-95 south of Philly. 5 forlorn looking drivers waiting for the tow truck. The accordioned cars reminded me of a Dr Seuss book.
