If anyone here actually read Lord Of The Rings... that sort of place sounds hauntingly familiar like the Barrow Downs...Indian mound?

I like your suggestion that there may have been survivalists under the mound. I had a guy at work ask for my help in engineering a bunker on the side of a hill, to store his food and ammunition.Indian mound?

HP I say you need to lighten upAnd no accusation intended!--- That said, I hold the notion of 'life after death' or, more precisely, "extra-corporal human consciousness" to constitute 'religion'...
Absolutely no slight intended!
Very best regards

PS - To be clear: I believe in the dichotomy of mind and body to the extent of accepting same as fact -- even as I hold strong political views --- My dubiety owes not to the validity of such beliefs/views but, rather, to the appropriacy of discussion of same on these fora!![]()
Alistair Sim, the quintessential scrooge spoiled any other version for me.
Maxheadroom I say George C. Scott did good job too in another versionAlistair Sim, the quintessential scrooge spoiled any other version for me.

Few days ago we celebrated his 205th anniversary and my 70th as well...!
While I grant the validity of your observation (above) I nonetheless maintain my assertion that casual discussion of religion (mainstream or otherwise) is best avoided altogether...HP I agree all spirituality is religion but religions w/o churches are less touchy for casual discussion cuz there's not as much like you say _polarization_ when human organizations aren't involved![]()
Hey, I have an idea... let's talk about the ectoplasmic apparitions of the abominable snowman...While I grant the validity of your observation (above) I nonetheless maintain my assertion that casual discussion of religion (mainstream or otherwise) is best avoided altogether...
To those with a 'sweet tooth' for 'unexplained phenomena', might I suggest the topic of 'strange critters' (i.e. extraterrestrials, 'Nessie', 'Big Foot', etc...) as a well-nigh 'acrimony free' alternative?
Respectfully

OLYMPIA, WA (AP) -
A new bill seeks to designate Sasquatch as the "official cryptid" of Washington state.
...
The measure says that Sasquatch - also known as Bigfoot or Forest Yeti - has "made immeasurable contributions to Washington state's cultural heritage and ecosystem."
And probably pocket book, I've enjoyed it up there. Not sure why but, it's inspiring and somewhat spiritual (Not in a supernatural way either)'acrimony free' alternative?

I looked up peacocks and they roost, this is a good explanation.I went into my house and went to bed. As I was about to sleep, I heard something on the roof. Footsteps and dragging something around. I hid under my covers and waited for it to pass. It did. The footsteps on the roof could have been peacocks. There were some people down the road who had peacocks, and one time they got on our roof and it sounded similar to what I heard.
Not sure about this stuff, unless someone was pranking all of you, but your friends described the event as dust coming from the ground and grave like holes is very interesting. In the morning everything was normal. We went back to the hill to get our stuff and inspect the area in daylight. We did not see anything to explain the thuds, no cow foot prints, no meteorite impact dents, no footprints or animal droppings of any kind anywhere around the hill. Not even any bird droppings. But we did find at least half a dozen holes which looked like graves dug up. about 6ft long, 3ft wide, and only about 2ft deep. It was super creepy and we never went anywhere near that place again.
