He was a decent man. R.I.P. George.

That grill he was the front man for was great. Made many a meal for the family on it. It cooked small steaks and burgers perfectly, quickly and evenly.

He was quite the character. Like most pro boxers, I wasn't fond of the attitude and brashness of his earlier days (but I think you probably need that kind of cocky self-confidence to reach the top levels of that (or almost any) sport). But in his later years he became a much more personable and gentle soul. Someone that was more than ready to laugh at himself.

Somewhere I have one of those grills. Need to dig it out and start using it again now that I'm eating more things that are suitable for it. It really did do a very good job of cooking meat. It just got put away and became out-of-sight, out-of-mind at some point.
