Does anyone have any data on the control circuits used in the GE/Marquette T1900 Treadmill?
The control interface is RS-232.
The Treadmill is lightly used but stopped responding to the start motor input.
I haven't seen this animal yet, and wouldn't mind a pic of it. Off the top of my head, have you "split" the system checking for RS-232 to and from the lower board? You will need an O-Scope or RS-232 adapter, reader, snooper, analyzer.
Most serial lines have specific drivers like the sn75als180 is it? These can indeed take a dump from time to time, and are usually in Transmit/Receive pairs near the connector placement.
I have seen a lot of "digital"(RS-232, 2-wire, RS422/485) communications in fitness equipment, plcs and HMI items.
