Yes the light has its own ballast. Also both the transformer and the red capacitor have been replaced. The grid is not shorted at all. Running out of ideasLooks like the light has it's own transformer , the dual white transformer in the centre with the Red capacitor is feeding the zapper,which could be the problem.
I have one but unfortunately it doesn't go up to 5,000 volts. Any other ideas?You need a Dvm to measure any voltage levels in and out of the transformer.
