I have an Amalgamated Electric Co. fused switch 115, 230 V, 30 A. It is now set up for 115 V, so has only 1 fuse. I want to set it up for 230 V by adding a fuse. Any ideas appreciated as to how best to do this.

How much room do you have in the disconnect?
There are fuse holders that can be 'clicked' together in order to gang them as many as you want.

There is space for another of the same type of fuse.
But it would be just as easy to pick up the dual fuse disconnect from H.D. etc : !
The other alternative is to Gut that one and fit the multi ganged fuse holders I mentioned.
They just click together..

Your first idea appears best for me i.e. ``There is space for another of the same type of fuse. `` However, nots sure if or where I can get the same type of fuse.

For that exact switch you would need to obtain the dual insert body.
If it is available.
Maybe a visit to a local electrical supplier, they may have a catalogue for such items for Amalgamated Electric Co
