Fouriers series and transfer function

If I have a function expressed as a Fourier series and I have the frequency response of the system , then will we have to calculate the gain and phase change for each term in the Fourier series? or to the whole sum? (Assume I have only a partial sum e/g a sinwt+b sin2wt+c sin3wt)
