Hi
Does this type Magnetic contactor with 220V AC coil has flyback voltage issue and need protection for the load or not?
Consider the load and the conductor coil terminal are connected to same power source.
Thanks

What are you switching with the contactor?
Normally the coil does not require suppression, depending on the environment it is used in , i.e., other close coupled circuitry etc.

I have had to use them on occasion where LV controllers such as CNC are implemented, and contactor coil creates shut down, sudden reboot of system.

MAX describes a problem which I have avoided by not using DC powered EM switching devices, but instead using opto-isolated mains powered contactors and motor starters. Total isolation is often an adequate solution.

I was referring to already existing systems that use AC contactor coils.
Where possible, I personally use DC devices as on newly designed systems, as is the custom now with new systems where 24vDC is a control preference now.

OK, Max. I had not experienced problems from AC coil devices. Of course, a great deal depends on how a circuit is wired. No question about that.
