Hiya I have a kitchen vent 240 volt and would like to fit a actuator on a sliding plate to retract when I switch the extractor on so open the vent and close extend when the power is switched off so close and keep the draught out . I am thinking of a circuit with a reverse polarity relay ???. Any ideas tips ???

If your actuator is Dc, then its better to use a mains dpdt relay to reverse the supply to it, the relay can be fed from the fan supply directly, i assume the actuator has limit switches built in?

Hi'ya I haven't got that far yet just weighing it up see if it is possible so if I use a mains dpdt wire it to the extractor so when I switch the extractor on it will activate the actuator ??? . . Do these mains dpdt relays come with wiring instructions ???. Thanks for your help and time . Oh another thing can these actuators work in the way I want it that is when the extractor is switched on the actuator will pull the plate up kinda like a sash window opening then when it is switched off lower it ??. Thanks again Keith.
