Hello I was trying to use Firefox to post a new thread
but every time I click submit or preview the message text is lost and only
the subject line remains. also when I select the insert image icon nothing happens. I have tested the forum posting in Opera with no problems.

I have NoScript installed which blocks JavaScript, allaboutcircuits.com.
was allowed but made no difference. Then I changed Firefox's pop up
blocker to make an exception for allaboutcircuits.com, still no joy.
So I set NoScript to allow googleapis.com and low and behold posting now
works.

Does any one know why googleapis.com is needed for posting to work?

Rather than hosting the large javascript libraries required for the site, we use the ones hosted by google. If a lot of sites do this (and they do), this allows the client to not have to download the same large javascript libraries on the many sites that they visit. It's a way to potentially speed up the loading of the site.

Interesting. I've run into variation of this issue, but I transfered my old font library from another version of windows to my existing machine. Kludgy, but it worked.

I normally block all JavaScript that does not originate from the web site I am visiting using NoScript but sometimes need to specifically allow one or another to get something working.

Thanks for the info jrap, now I know a little more about why googleapis.com
is a part of so many web sites.
