finding linearity using hand calculation and on software

Hello

I want to know about the linearity of OTA. When we do hand calculation we calculate gm using smalls signal analysis and making small signal model. But when on simulation the graph between gm vs vid is plot by varying/sweeping the DC input voltage and plotting the iout by sweeping DC voltage why is it so?
Can anyone help me.
