signal s(t)= (2a) / (t2+a2)
A) Determine the essential bandwidth B Hz of s(t) such that the energy contained in the spectral components of s(t) of frequency below B Hz is 99% of the signal energy.
B) Determine the half-power or 3dB bandwidth of the signal

With this, I am not quite sure where to start for part A.

To find parts to both A and B, I needed to find the signal energy of the signal given. When I did this using ∫s^2(t) dt from -infinity to infinity. I did this and got 2π / a. Can someone check this and I should be able to do the rest. I had someone else get 4πa and not sure if that is correct, I did not get that.
