Filter for Peltier PWM application

If you operated it from filtered PWM rather than on/off it would be even more efficient. ;)
How would you do this?

I am working on a project - I'm planning on using an Arduino to PWM at around 3kHz to a Peltier device (TEC 12706). It is my understanding that filtered PWM is better for the peltier's efficiency and from what I've read a low pass LC filter should be suitable for this?

I am a mechanical engineering student and do not have much knowledge about electronics. Could you or someone direct me in finding values for the inductor and capacitor for the LC filter?

I did a simple calculation and found that my inductor should be around 1 microH and capacitor should be around 150microF.

Please help!
