In other words, post #11:
"Whatever you REALLY want to be, you will be, in the end."
Perseverance naturally happens if your deepest beliefs are that you want to know electronics.

It's kind of Zen, which doesn't usually go over well on this site.:(

Engineer's notebooks by Forrest M Mims are a great place to start. A lot of them are free online now. If you talk electronics to people that aren't into it, they glaze over like deer in the headlights. We, on the other hand, are interested. I like to go to "Meetup Groups" that are electronic or programming oriented. You can have good conversations there with like minded people.

Caution: Some of the Forrest Mims circuits have errors. Check back here if you see something that looks wrong.

Wow ! Wow! I got to say first and foremost that I am truly blown away and amazed with not only the amount of feedback from everyone but the constant positive messages and intention of literally every post. Thank you everyone, thank you from the bottom of my heart. As I say here and read wonderful post after even better wonderful post I still feel overwhelmed, although now I so encouraged and supported. I am not sure who exactly said it actually a few did but you are completely right I need to breath and take it all in but in manageable pieces and keep at it. I remember at time, i was about seventeen, looking at this gorgeous house the company i was there applying for just finished and the inspector just gave the certificate of occupancy for, I remember listening to the lead carpenter and inspector talking about all these things that might as well been alien language and at this time was to me. Either way as they talked in click s and grunts i thought god how can a person know so much and how or will i ever be able to operate on there level someday. This year 2015 I got C.O.'s on fourteen complete custom homes and now i am that guy talking to the inspector. So to make my long story longer you are all right that no matter what the mountain always looks highest from the bottom. I can't explain, or put into words though how much it means that not only did i get replies but so much support for complete strangers. Once again i don't know who said it but they said something to the effect of they "have" to learn and work with electronics but instead "get to" and with the truly awesome encouragement I received from everyone I have this renewed inspiration and hunger to continue my journey here with electronics, my full time building career, and even in my personal life. I am constantly dumb founded with where I meet, absorb, find, or whatever format it comes into my life as a inspiration that is the equivalent of a pit stop for the soul, where unintentionally and intentionally people have helped me keep my vehicle of learning and personal growth running at peak performance in my race of many laps and even reminding me to take it one lap at a time. P.S. it may sound like it but i really not a NASCAR fan but thought it was a good example to explain my thoughts and feelings. If anyone has any specific experience with any other educational resources, books by title, particular websites, forums, etc.. that they can recommend? Expecially materials that a basic, beginner, or of general nature that may be of use getting/finding? Once again everyone thank you so much for helping through my educational panic attack.

This website was started with an idea for an e-book. Access to it is posted in the dark blue line across the top of the page. That is a start for the basics. Dozens of excellent engineers and technicians populate this site.

You will buy books, as needed, for certain projects. A few of the titles on my shelf are, Sound System Engineering, GE Lamp Products, The National Electrical Code, Enercell Battery Guidebook, RCA Receiving Tube Manual, Security Electronics, FET Circuits, How to Build Proximity Detectors, Understanding Telephone Electronics, Linear Applications Handbook, Audio Handbook, Voltage Regulator Handbook, Active Filter Cookbook, GWBASIC, A Desktop Reference of Hip Vintage Guitar Amplifiers.

You don't need to care about any of those titles. You need to buy the books about subjects that interest YOU...right after you find out which subjects you want to study. Each book might be thought of as one college course, or, any of these books could be the basis for one college course.

Poke around on this site. When you smell something interesting, study it. When you master all or part of a subject, write it up in your Blog space provided on this site. Look at my Blogs to see the variety of ways you can use your Blog space.
