I manage to pick up a Extech 18v/3amp power supply for really cheap.. The unit was sold as broken or for parts and I was ok with that.. But it was package wrong and got more busted up in shipping. So far the main filter caps need to be replaced and front voltage display is busted.. The power supply part and panel meters are separate circuits and uses 2 7k pots to control voltage and current..So I can't decide whether to rebuild everything back to stock or rebuild the power circuit/ Change the dual panel meters to a large lcd using an arduino/ Change both 7tk pots to a 2k & 5K-coarse and fine setup with new front panel ??

 

What did you end up doing with this power supply? I've got one that needs the caps replaced... and I'm looking at the large resistors and I have no idea how to read the code on them... they're 0.7 and 0.6 ohms.

 

They look like "R33" to me, 0.33 ohms.
