Exotic propulsion

From that article:

Unfortunately, it won't necessarily mean we can travel faster than light, because the effects of physics theories such as relativity are a consequence of light's velocity.
The "Theory of Special Relativity" actually proves just the opposite: You can, in effect, exceed the speed of light.

It works like this. You board a rocket with some exotic fuel that is capable of providing 2 G's of constant acceleration for long periods of time and aim it at our closest star system, Alpha Centauri, roughly 4.6 light years aways. In fact you should arrive there in just about half that time!

So how? You didn't overtake any light beams but you did EFFECTIVELY exceed the speed of light thanks to the direct effects of time dilation. Measured from Earth of course there would be no faster than light travel to speak of, as more than 5 years would have passed. But from your space-travelling perspective at least you would indeed have basically exceeded "the ultimate speed limit".

I read somewhere that if you had a rocket that could accelerate constantly at 1G (to make everyone inside comfortable), you could reach the edge of the know universe in your lifetime (inside the ship of course).

Maybe to the edge of our galaxy in a human lifetime.
Why stick to 1G? Drug them with gravanol to counteract the effects of the g-load and crank it up.

Exactly. But maybe not so safe for the occupents. Almost nothing natural would be travelling anything like your frame of reference so even a grain of sand could pose a major hazard to the ship. You'd need some sort of nucleomagnetic force field!

But did you ever say you weren't?
Methinks you doth protest too much (with apologies to the Bard). ;)
Yes, a few times in response to his (and others) continuous lame lies based on some strange political agenda to make me appear as a kook. I feel for the guy, if you are so stupid that a person of average intelligence looks like a genius compared to you. ;)

A few examples.

If you mean me, that's a flat out lie. I've never claimed to be a 'spy'. It only shows your ignorance on the subject of communications security.
Always has to be about you doesn't it? You don't seem to remember many of your posts in the political thread with your claims.

But now that you mention it, you have made out to be an "expert" on many subjects on the forum, air craft control, spying(look at what you call your self),law enforcement and physics. Sure are full of it. Next you will tell us your a French model.

I don't understand why, when in your estimation and my choice of screen names, you always bother your self to respond to my "flat out lies".

Not sure there's any "strange agenda" for that.
Your screen name and apparent paranoia is sufficient. ;)
Your crystal ball is muddy (The Dark Psychic Forces of Collective must be interfering with the picture) and your reasoning is pretty shallow.
My screen name is a joke from the pre-internet days. The only paranoia present is from the people that don't get the joke.

Black versus white. Yin versus yang. Good versus...wait, they’re both evil. Or are they both good?

Like I said, to some, ordinary intelligence seems expert. It's really a sad state of affairs but I love kicking stones. :D
