VBA - Excel 2013

Last night I had the chance to test an Excel application using custom floating toolbars in Excel 2013.

Both toolbars insisted to show up inside the ribbon atop the screen. Spent 20 minutes looking thorugh the Help section but found nothing about floating toolbars.

I have no further access by now to Excel 2013 thus my questions:

Are they completely deprecated in version 2013?

If so, what should be my chances to get something equivalent for Excel 2013? Userforms?

My application requires flotaing bars or whatever could work in a similar way.

They were deprecated long time ago.

I replaced them with user forms which work OK.
