Gold is up 4.9%With 369 out of 382 areas done with counting, the “leave” vote is ahead with 51.7% versus 48.3% for the “remain” camp.
The decision to sever ties with the EU has come as a shock to financial markets, with all risk assets selling off heavily. The pound is down 10% against the dollar at $1.3382, the lowest it’s been since 1985.

If Scotland leave the UK they cannot print the pound and there subsidiaries will be removed. They will have as much power over the pound as we do over the dollar.Wow, that was close, 16,141,241 (48.1%) voted remain, 17,410,742 (51.9%) voted to leave.
Of course their will be uncertainty in the financial markets, but this should be fairly temporary.
It’s a good feeling that we will remain a self governing country and not just a state of the EU.
Now watch the knock on effect in other EU countries, we may not be the only ones not happy with the way the EU is developing.
The icing on the cake is that we have taken the nationalistic obnoxious Scots out of the EU against their will, they had their own referendum to leave the UK but keep the pound and the subsidies from the UK.
Why would Scotland want to maintain the Pound as a currency - it is not worth anything. I am sure the EU will gladly accept them into the Euro zone.If Scotland leave the UK they cannot print the pound and there subsidiaries will be removed. To say that the pound is not worth anything is just plain silly. Yes its value has dropped but it is still a strong currency. You also need to realize that because Scotland border the UK trading in the same currency is easier and incurs less costs. If they join the Euro they still cant control their own currency AND the euro-zone is weak after the recent bailouts and recessions. Why would Scotland want to maintain the Pound as a currency - it is not worth anything. I am sure the EU will gladly accept them into the Euro zone.

It was a bad day for Scotland when the SNP (Scottish National Party) took power, these types of politicians are the worst possible, stirring up nationalistic pride, trying to divide the UK purely for personal fame and gain. Why would Scotland want to maintain the Pound as a currency - it is not worth anything. I am sure the EU will gladly accept them into the Euro zone.
In a candid statement, Ladbrokes’ head of political betting, Matthew Shaddick, said: “The truth is that bookies do not offer markets on political events to help people forecast the results. We do it to turn a profit (or at least not lose too much) and in that respect, this vote worked out very well for us.
“Nobody at Ladbrokes’ HQ will be criticising the predictive powers of our odds, they’ll be looking at the money we made.”
More than £40m was gambled in the biggest political betting event in British history.
William Hill said one woman in central London placed her first ever bet by putting £100,000 on the UK voting to stay, while another woman, from Kingston, south-west London, gambled for the first time by staking £10,000 on leave.
