we all cram on tests [maybe not all ], yeah..
i'm making a 3D animated movie of Engineering students [ Being a Mechatronics Engineering student myself]
and how they suffer

using blender 2.49
i want some ideas for the animation and cheering!

IVE GOT IT!

Tying to pick up chicks.

Have him girl walk up to him and "speak" a big HEART.

Then he replies with a bunch of math functions in his "speak bubble"

Then after he thinks he's impressed her with his knowledge and looking all suave, her "speak bubble heart" breaks and she walks away.. leaving him with a "What did I say?" look.

Then he can pull out a text, and he "speaks" a big heart.

Simple Solution: Pick up the engineering chicks instead, they do the same thing to us fellas. I mean, at least then we have something to talk about. We're an odd breed, aren't we?

 

I have an idea for you that I have encountered many times during electronics lab this summer.

1: You design something on paper

2: You build it

3: It doesn't work

4: You spend 2 hours trying to find the reason, you look for stuff connected wrong, you then go back to your calculations and redo them, you then question your knowledge of math and science, you then question whether or not you can succeed at this major at all.

5: You spend 2 hours banging your head on the table.

6: After you are about ready to kill yourself, you notice you did not have the power to the circuit turned on.

7:You then take a sigh of relief in the emergency room.

 

How about posting a circuit you have a problem with.

A tech points to a capacitor and says "Use x value".

It works, so you ask the tech why.

Reply, "I dunno, it seemed right". Engineering professors love intuition.

 

I think saying "it felt right" would be a better line. I agree with the rest.

 

If you lay in thought horizonally you look negitive,If you stand up
and declare a solution you look like verical thinker.If you think about it,
a horizonal and verical position make a positive statement that means
you have measured correctly,the right formula .A good engineering
dreamer. The next Hi-Tech device.

 

I produced a minute of the movie...

 

The two frames you posted are great.
I have a scene in my mind based on them.
The first image should be the character at the desk with eyebrows furrowed scribbling quickly with pauses, a few erasures followed by the standing up pacing back and forth a few times with finger to jaw in a thinker pose, sitting back down a few more scribbles then wadding the paper up and into a waste basket, that with that last wad the basket is full. Character shakes his head sadly puts his head in his hands and sobs for a couple seconds, stands up grabs the basket as the camera pans out out to a football sized field of discarded paper wads and they chuck the baskets contents into it. Then it zooms back in he sits back down cracks his nuckles and goes back to work. The video should fade to blackand then simple text would appear <Years later...> and then you should show a still image of a lined piece of paper on the desk with E=MC^2 written on it.

Perfection.

 

From an animation standpoint, defiantly give the thing an eyebrow of some kind, or deform the eye in some way to give the impression of an eyebrow, facial expression of SOME kind and profound is the way you'll get an emotional statement across that people can understand. The only thing that comes to mind is something like a ascii charactors like - _ for an eyebrow, that changes to a ! when he gets the idea and then back to a _. Gives it a geek appeal.

Well, when are you going to release some of them? Your public awaits!

 

i want to release it at once, it has something like 15 different clips where he watches T.V. and plays football ... etc..

not working on it at the moment, but will definetly finish it someday...

hello, i had a long break now.
i will re-work on this after fixing the Desktop
working on the laptop now.

 

I would attack the angle of trying to explain to management about technical topics and reasons why we did what. That always wants to make you bang your head against a table.

 

i will get back to working on this very very soon.
