Strange thing about that. Women tend to believe that good intentions make up for bad results. We probably study electronics because transistors don't subscribe to that belief.

 

Well Strantor, I can tell you how purdue works...
There's the Intro to Engineering, which is a complete BS weed out class with TONS of graded work, as well as CHEM 115, which is also weed out
(I tested out of all the chem, history, foreign language, and english)

Weed out classes are designed to do just that- weed out those that aren't cut out for engineering. either lacking the motivation, just in it for the paycheck and give up, or lack the mind for it (harsh, but there are always a few better suited for a different field)

once you get past these classes, there is still going to be a lot of work, but it is actual work where you learn things other than how to enter data into excell, and it's not so bad.

The course load will go wherever you lead it, but it's really less about the work itself, and more about how well you learn to manage it.
In the last week alone, I've been more on top of my homework, and had more free time, than the first 3 weeks.
Once you learn the time management, and when you can focus best, the rest gets much easier.

Personally, i do math best from after dinner to about 10, and physics best from 10-12, liberal artsy stuff from 12-2:30
(as the night goes on, my ability to process logic goes sharply downhill)

 

Homework set in the morning is often done and handed in the afternoon.

Otherwise, I tend to suffer from cba.

 

Yes the intro to engineering class has already weeded out over 1/3 of the class. It's weeded out all the members of my group for the upcoming group project/presentation, I'll be doing that on my own.

 

Yea, I can see that. In ours you are assigned a group, then you're stuck with them for the whole year, so if they all have no motivation or drop out, best of luck on your own
