Can someone explain why in the 1st picture, the author marked self - induced emf with positive sign up and negative sign down, but in the second picture another author marked self induced emf with positive sign down and negative sign up( as you can see the arrow direction), even though in both pictures, coils and wound in the same direction. Which is correct?
