Temperature is to be measured in the range of T1 (50C) to T2 (100C). The sensor is a resistance (RTD ) which varies linearly from R1 (141Ω) to R2 (171Ω ) for this temperature range.

a. Design analog signal conditioning circuit which provides a voltage varying linearly from 0V to 5V for this temperature range
b. Design a circuit to light a LED whenever the temperature is within T(50C) and T2(100C) otherwise the LED is OFF.

Is this taken directly off your electronics homework? LOL!

Tell us what you have done to solve this, even if it's wrong, we want to see work. What do you think you need to solve this(in terms of components)?

Here's a hint: you need an amplifier stage with correct gain so the signal goes from 0-5V, but the "50C" voltage is not zero so you can use what is called a differential amplifier.

b. Design a circuit to light a LED whenever the temperature is within T(50C) and T2(100C) otherwise the LED is OFF.

This is easily done by what is called a window comparator. It signals when the voltage is in a certain range or "window".

There's no need to color your post red - we will see it either way and it is much easier to quote portions if we don't have to deal with tags.

As tshuck said, you need to show your efforts at a solution and we can then work from there.

Can you think of a circuit in which the output voltage doubles if the value of one of the resistors doubles?

What types of circuits are fair game for this assignment?
