Electron tube survival under hyperbaric conditions

It occurs to me there’s still a lot of love for tubes (usually call them valves here in Aus).

In two years collecting I have a huge box of "all sorts”, 2x timber console MW radios early 30’s pre-superhet,
1935 timber console superhet, Leak TL12 Plus amplifier, 1950’s octal valve radio,
matching valve audio signal gen, and oscilloscope local manufacture, valve RF signal gen,
10x 9 inch Sony Trinitron PVM, and a 1960’s valve based Grid Dip Oscillator :)

So long as there is genuine interest!:)

Weren't the _Tango Hotel_ pa tubes use by signal corps? They have the big volumes but I don't know if used on subs.

HP you said
Uggg! The 250TH (and its ilk) -- Powerful, 'pretty' and about as much gain as a 100GΩ resistor:eek:

PS -- Hey, Aleph - No need for pedanticism now! - I am quite aware that resistors are equally passive despite value - Even so - I believe I've made my point:D

I inferred from the meandering thread by you and Aleph in "off-topic" that the recovery effort is postponed until next year? Is that right? 'Seas' are too rough already?

Actually, it's matter of the authorities' insistence upon presence during said effort -- seems they cannot coordinate their respective schedules prior to the close of the 'season':mad:

Ya know -- I see a day coming wherein (for instance) roadtrips must be filed with (and approved by) police such that they may schedule 'tag-alongs', hence garnering every opportunity for issuance of citations!:mad::mad: -- Wadda world!

Well, anyway... This is not totally unexpected -- FWIW My principal concern is less with 'pressure enhanced corrosion' than with shock-waves, etc, corollary to the 'dynamics' of seasonal surface ice --- Granted, the cargo is 'elastically buffered' by the large 'air pocket' in which it is (hopefully) contained -- even so, I have my doubts as to the "softness" of air at ≅ 3.6 ATM (metered)

Many thanks for your interest!:)
