Will IRL540 switch directly solenoid? or else need other circuitry with IRL540?


Will you point out required MOSFET driver because there are many available but looking which one is suitable for the requirement ?

After a little search I could find this info on the kind of valve you have over there:

The valve seems to be able to do 5 cycles a second.
The mentioned 10 mS will be to fast.

As stated on the give page, the valve can make 5 cycles a second.
1 cycle will be 200 mS, so 100 mS on and 100 mS off.
You can make pulses of 100 mS with it.

Why would you think a MOSFET would damage your supply?

I seen IRL 510 Vgs max is only 20V. in this datasheet http://www.radiovilag.hu/images/IRF510.pdf and the supply voltage is 24V so I think mosfet will be damage so I have to drop 4V using resistor

As the gate voltage is coming from the MCU, it will be around 5 Volts, when the MCU is powered with 5 Volts.

The 1N4007 can be used as back emf diode.
The rated current of the diode must be higher as the coil current of the solenoid.

Since the diode only carries the current for a short period of time, the surge current rating of the diode can be used to size the diode, unless the solenoid is being very rapidly turned on and off.
But a diode rated near the solenoid current would be a good conservative selection.

 

For fast solenoid operation, the Dispensing type valves are often used due to their potentially rapid operation.

I am trying to get current rating for aeroflex solenoid valve v4-08 DC but I didn't see the current specification for aeroflex solenoid valve v4-08 on my search

So what’s different between an IRL510 and an IRL540? They are different Mosfets. The IRL540 is rated for 200V and 18A. More than sufficient for your needs. By a factor of 10.

 

Your amazon solenoid looks like a cheap knock-off of the Airtac 4V series valves

According to that datasheet, it's 3.0W consumption (DC) so current is determined by the voltage you pick.
