Do these devices function the same ?

Hello all.
Cable TV and preamplified antennas use splitters with DC power pass. Found the 'Antronix' ; specs do not tell me exactly if splits the RF as to substitute the desired 'Cable' at bottom. Do you know ?

The Antronix device on the left isn't a splitter. It inserts power with minimal loss up to the headend (receiver) amp. RF comes down the cable into the bottom right port and exits to the TV bottom left.

The device on the right is a splitter coming down the link into the top port, sending 50% signal to each of two devices at the bottom and sends power up the cable to power the headend (receiver) amp.

Thank you.
With a preamplified antenna that uses DC, connected to the 'top' connector of the Antronix, a TV receiver at its bottom left and a second TV receiver that also injects +DC into the right bottom connector, should it work ? Specs do not mention bidirectionality, but continuity meter does shows DC path top-to-bottom right.

No.

As above, the Antronix part is *not* a splitter. It's only function is to inject DC power into the cable going to the preamp, and separate that DC power from the cable going to the TV. It may appear to act as a splitter, but the impedances are wrong and there will be cross-coupling bettween the two TV set antenna inputs.

To do what you want to do, you need both devices. Connect the Antronix "RF TO TV" output to the other device (which actually is a splitter) "IN".
