A few comments about op-amps in the design of reply #19.
The LM324 (quad) or LM358 (dual) _might_ be fast enough. As mentioned earlier, a better choice would be the TL084 (quad) or TL082 (dual).

If you use 2 dual op-amps then put U2 and U3 as one pair and U4 and U5 as the other pair. This allows you to use +/-15 volts for the power supplies of U4 and U5 to get a larger output voltage swing. RV2 would have to be changed to a 25K pot as well.

For simulation, you can try the LT1013 for the op-amps. I think it is similar to LM358.

Don't forget that the circuit requires the 555 timer to be the CMOS version.
