Beyond the short answer of, yes probably, I've got a bunch of stuff i'm planning to do that will be pretty big firsts for me. I hope this is a learning experience for me, more so than i hope to actually have a really excellent reflow oven. In fact i may never actually build the oven. Although that would be ok too.
I have a few questions, not sure if i'll keep them all in this thread or make a new thread for each one, but either way, 1 at a time. If a MOD has a preference for that please let me know. The questions will all relate to building thisDeath trap cool peice of lab equipment.

First up is the Triac Driver Board. Never used triacs before.
I intend to wire the heating elements, of which most toaster ovens have 2 to a couple triacs. This board will be inside a metal box inside the electronics compartment of the oven, and bonded to the ground wire of the 3-wire plug (i will install one if the toaster i choose doesnt have one).
1. Any thoughts on my schematic?
2. Is it safe to have a zero cross detect wire direct from mains like I have? Should i put a clamping diode between the resistor and the connector to limit this to 5v? I believe i read in my PIC data sheet that the zero cross detect pin can handle high voltages provided you put a huge resistor on it. Although thinking about it just now, i think a 5v diode would be wise...
