In my case I am using IRFP150N MOSFET
As per the image is showing it has 4 cycle which is showing diodes
My questions are
1. This diode is MOSFET body diode or not
2. Since MOSFET has body diode , So..Do we need external back EMF diode
3. What is the disadvantage if we use back EMF diode while MOSFET body diode is available
4. What is the advantage if we connect diode directly to the motor pins

Please advice

 

It is very common to also see external Schottky diodes, which can be fitted with a much higher current capacity.

Use the transistor with Shotkley bemf diodes, as they are fast response and lower forward voltage drop.

You mean to fix external Shotkley diode.......right ?

 

Yes, external diodes.

 

An external Schottky diode can also give you a shorter reverse recovery time, which might be important in your design.
