So I made up my mind to buy a Rigol DS1052E.

1. Any thing later or better than the DS1052E one ?
2. Do you recommend to buy from Rigol website ? Wonder if they ship to Maldives.

I agree 100%. I upgraded my 1052e from 50MHz to 100MHz, took about a minute

Yeah over at the EEVBlog there are alot of scopes by Rigol that you can hack with a software upgrade.. I know there was a list around with all the tech data but will have to find it for you ..

I prefer the USB key method as opposed to the RS232.

 

Does the fact that your teaching us stuff here on this site qualify you to be an educator?
The Rigol sticky note means they are selling them to someone at a price to low to mention.
Maybe we could get them to cut us a deal.
For anyone with 500 post +, they could be considered an educator.
I guarantee I've learned a lot more on this site than I did at any college class, or field tech class.
In my mind at least, you guys are the Phd's of the Electronics Industry.

I was tempted by that but I cannot afford that now.
And the other issues is if it is above USD 400.00 I cannot pay online. Bank limitations

I saw some where something about activating some thing in the software using the serial on the scope as license.
What is this all about ?

Not to be a Smart A$$ but did you watch the vids above cause they explain the scope to you and it's for that exact scope I posted and recommended..

I bought my Rigol 1052 from Batronix and highly recommend them.
I had to use their customer service because I gave them a wrong postcode and they were very helpful and dealt with the German international post firm that refused to communicate with me in English!
When the package was returned to them they shipped it the same day to me (with the address corrected).
