Hi All,

Can anyone identify this motor?
and any advice on how to drive it?
See pictures below...

The resistance between the wires are 1.8 ohms for all combinations,

There is around permanent magnet inside.

That appears to be a simple electronically self commutated fan motor, you require a specialized drive, usually microprocessor based version in order to detect rotor position at start up.

I am designing a control board for this type of motor, the motor will be used as an air pump (a simple fan) that does not need to be very accurate but I will need to be able to control the speed...

You could try it on straight 3ph and see what results you get, you will find out if commutation is needed.
A motor like this can also be driven in BLDC fashion, but would definately require commutation of some kind.
