And does the snubber have to be in a certain order? I think I drew it:

motor ---- snubber ---- relay ---- plug

but I may have to re-wire it because i have it:

motor ---- relay ---- snubber ---- plug

Does it make a difference?

 

One of the PDF's I quoted previously shows where to place it. As close to the source of 'noise' as possible.

ok well I did it but I was wondering if there is a way for me to tell if its working, the snubber I mean? What can I measure?

 

If suppressing contact arcing, it is mainly a case of observation and monitoring effect.

Well there was no previous arcing because I was told to add the snubber right as I was about to set it up. So I hadnt really done anything without the snubber.

From what I understood the idea is to prevent the backflow (it has I name but I forgot) of current from the compressor through my relay board and up to my MCU.
