I indirectly did a reverse lookup. I Googled the number directly. Sometimes when I get annoying, unrecognized, hang-up calls, I use this technique. There are several services online with a database of numbers reported as having made harassing calls. I was looking to see if this number was there. It wasn't but this reverse record appeared.

When I googled the number I got several hits from sites that want $$ for the info, and it's just not worth the effort...yet..

 

I simply went to Google and typed reverse phone lookup and got this as the first hit:

http://www.whitepages.com

 

I'm not necessarily interested in the info (as you state, it's available for free). I'm interested to see if there's a pattern of complaints. This site, http://www.callercomplaints.com , is an example of what I was referring to.
