Useful video, I also use this simple copper wire method for removing surface mount caps and resistors.
You offset the free end of the copper wire to fit the component ends.

Just tossed an old project with some headers that I could have used, but have never been able to get things apart easily and didn't care to fight with it. Will have to try this next time
