Dark sensor circuit using LM393 question.... unstable OFF/ON... flickering

Just FYI, now that the reset pin on the attiny is set to GPIO, I did some thorough testing of the low battery signal. It turns out that the 3.3k resistors that I started with will trigger the blink sequence when voltage falls below 11.7v. I didn't need the 2.4k resistors after all.
