Current limit problem of battery charger.

Use a Constant Current source, it will give you the set current of 5amp, at any resistance, but the Voltage will vary with the resistance.

You wont beat OHMs Law!!!

Hello

I want to charge 12v battery lead acid so i have 14.4v 144 watt battery charger.
When the battery charger put battery that has low charge,It blows up requiring more current
So i decided to give 5a to battery that has low charge or normal charge
My goal is giving only 5a to battery regardless of battery low or high
My circuit is smps based
No schematic only pcb

Oh, that's different. You need to modify an existing SMPS to be current-limited to 5A.

One traditional method is to place some load – such as a power resistor – in series with the charging current. For instance a 3Ω resistor would not allow more than 5A from a 15V supply. You could use a headlight bulb as the load, but that is less than 5A.

Modifying an SMPS is beyond my pay grade.

Input Transistors blow up (13007)
I modified atx power supply

For 5amps are there constant current sourse or something ideal or current limit or other ways

This is battery charger based on tl494
When we put charger to battery which has even much lower charge
Its transistors do not blow up
Compared:
My circuit is based on tl494
This charger is also based on tl494
Operation : half bridge is the same
Input transistors are npn bipolar as mine
Output voltage is 36 v
But my circuit voltage 14-15 v
But this circuit has one mosfet in output and some circuit (i dont know what ciruit) is from Rsense up to 15 pin of tl494
My circuit has not these two circuits

Show me the full circuit diagram of Your Atx, most Atx psus sense the current in the output transformer, from the primary winding, and use pins 1,2 or 15,16 if its got a TL494!!

I could not find my atx schematics on the internet
I have only pcb

This is the same thread as a previous
In the previous thread i couldnt explain to you better
I only ask you to explain this circuit to me fully

Your current limit is set by the Voltage reference on pin15,(which is the internal op amp for pwm feedback, ) using the precision Ref pin 14, and its also compared to the Voltage drop across the Rsense resistor ( in the Negative output rail) which is amplified by op amp U2, and fed into the Dead time pin4 of TL494, this shuts down the pwm until the voltage drops and the cycle repeats.

Voltage monitoring is using pins 1,2.

Do you require a Fully Detailed description of the Self-start oscillator using Q1,2?

You can remove the Spark sense Mosfet Q6, its not needed.

More Circuits Here if you need more information.

Thanks for useful information
I will draw my circuit picture and make a video and upload them
You will then see my circuits fully
And you will know what is problem
Please dont leave this thread
I will upload my circuits as soon as possible
Wait for me
