Hi,

I am planning to do DC drop for my board as part of Power Integrity analysis.
I am calculating current requirements of the ICs.

For logic IC (Eg: SN74LCV245APW) total current is Static and Dynamic current requirements.

For dynamic should I consider only switching current(C*V*F*N) or only IO currents(IOH & IIL) or both switching & IO currents.

If I do this for all the 8 channels, am I over rating my current requirements. What is the best way to calculate the current requirement of a logic device like level translator or buffer.

You need to add together the static current, the switching internal current and the IO current to get the maximum supply current. Dont forget to add in the capacitive loading on the output of your IC.

Not sure what those mean, for output you need to consider both the charging of the capacitance connected to the output, as well as the DC load on that output.
