A pleasant good afternoon , and a happy and prosperous new year to all in our AAC forum. Is their anyone here knowledgeable of
Crowns Xti2 2002 Series Amplifiers.
So I bought this Amp back in 2016 ( Full Compass ) it worked flawlessly untill 2024 where it went into protection mode an shut down. I tried sourcing a service manual because it is out of warranty and I am in jamaica so it would cost me too much to send
it back to the USA for repairs.
Any suggestion why it went into protection mode ?

Good afternoon I thank the Moderator for relocating this thread to the right place. For added information for my Xti2 ,I powered on the Amp several times within the last two weeks ( since 2024 when it initially shut down ) with it still going into protection mode and shutting off until the other day it stayed on when I turned it on.
I have since done a visual of the circuit board component side and underneath looking for any visual damage. I did not see any bulging caps or did I see any charred areas or components. Any guidance will be appreciated. I'll will be testing some of these caps out of circuit shortly

Hello,

Do you measure a dc voltage at the output?
Do you hear a relay click when the protection starts?

The first thing to do is to disconnect all loudspeakers from the amplifier. This will avoid blowing the speakers.
Check the DC voltage at the outputs, between the RED and BLACK terminals.

Can you take a photo of the overall circuit board so that we can identify which model you have?
Also post a photo of the front display so that we can read what it says.

Okay, so the red lights are off now and the DC voltage on channel 1 is approximately 16.5 to 17 mV and channel 2 it is 36.5 to 38 mV. Thank you

Okay thank you. On my way to work right now, it is the XTI2 2002 ,I will submit a Photo of the circuit in the morning.
If there is a format, I have a short video powering up.

Those voltages are in an acceptable range. Now we have to find out what "Locked in protection mode" means.

I have a short video I could post for you to see the Amps response when turned on.
Bellow is a link to the video of the Amp going into protection mode before it stays on now :

Good afternoon, why I used the terminology "Locked in protection mode" is because each time I tried turning the Amp on it would just do the routine process then within a few seconds the red lights start flashing then it goes off. This started happening from October 2024 when I parked it. You can check the video I posted. The duration of on to off would differ over time , but now it comes back on and stays on.

What other component / components other than caps would force the amp to shut down ? Still sniffing around, I want to locate the fault before connecting the speaker .

We cannot always find the smoking gun that makes a unit not work. Instead, we have to look at functionality,
With something this complex, the first place to test is the power supply.

There are some major voltages that you have to check and confirm.
+30 V
-30 V
+15 V
-15 V
+ 3.3 V

You need to be able to navigate around the circuit board and match it up with the circuit schematics.
Then there are some protection circuitry that need to be checked.

Go to the Service Manual for higher resolution pictures.
