Crosley CR6012A: Performance? Or not??

I have a possible project of transplanting the audio to MP3 circuit board from a CrosleyCR6012A turntable package into a tape player package to save some of my tapes as MP3 files. But I find no information on this device as it actually works. Does anybody have any actual information? All of the reviews talk about how terrible the speakers sound, none discuss the quality of the MP3 files produced. THAT is what I am hoping to find, before doing some serious transplanting work. The speakers were sent to scrap metal recycling long ago.
