Hi guys;i have here an old E machines T3958 Intel (R) Celeron CPU 2.93GHZ 1 mem ram, the CPU just burned due to the Bestec Crappy Power supply,
now i changed the power supp with an old HP that i have in my scrap, also i have an Intel CPU 2.00Ghz in my scrap,
My question can i use this Intel 2.00GHZ processor in place of the 2.93GHZ and if good what will be the cons of the change in performance wise?

Note: i have on order 2gb Mem on the way.

 

What is the name of 2GHz CPU?

 

If it was made for the same socket, then it should work.

Internetz says that eMachines T3958 uses Socket 478 for cpu. Does the 2 GHz cpu use Socket 478?

 

Hi guys; went a head and swapped the CPU Intel 2.93GHZ for Intel 2.00 GHz and you know what; the PC is alive again,i only use it for surfing the web,i have 4 more better machines for my streaming videos,so i'm set thanks.
