Haven't you been watching the news?
Exactly.
No good deed goes unpunished.

Germany dealt with the first wave of COVID-19 so well that people questioned how serious the virus was, and even doubted its existence, the head of its public health agency said Thursday.

Because of the country was "very successful" when the pandemic started, many people aren't taking social distancing guidelines and quarantine seriously enough, Lothar Wieler, head of the Robert Koch Institute for Infectious Diseases (RKI), said at a press conference.
...
As a result, the country has seen a surge in cases in the fall and winter. Germany reported 487 new deaths on Tuesday, its highest daily total so far.

According to Wieler, some people didn't know anyone who was infected by COVID-19, which made it harder for them to comprehend the scale of the pandemic. Others denied the virus' existence. He called this a "prevention paradox."

I think we have had a previous post on this, but just for the 'tip of the iceburg'.
Three sheets to the wind.
Swinging the lead.
Cut of his jib.
Taken aback
A square meal
Take down a peg
Wide berth.
That is just a few, the rest will fill a book, come to think of it, it has! ;)
Max.

Yes, even though it can still be disconcerting at times. In nautical terms, it seems like the captain wants to scuttle this ship before he goes down.

I'm glad to see people are able to be light hearted during this time. Makes me hopeful that we all can see each other in a better light and get along better as well. I just hope nobody lowers the boom.

I HATE BofA. I got a home loan. It was later sold to BofA. Having seen on the news how BofA was losing people's mortgage payments then finding them in default, then foreclosing on them - my wife and I decided to RE refinance our home with a credit union. I suppose we dodged a bullet, but I won't have anything to do with that banking establishment. MANY MANY years ago I had a checking and saving account with them. When I closed the account they continued to pay on a reoccurring charge; and they said they were doing that as a FAVOR to me. I told them "No - you're doing it as a favor to yourself because for every overdraft you charge a fee." I don't know how I got them to forgive and forget the bill, but they did. I will NEVER deal with BofA again.

A few random thoughts as I sit here self-quarantined.

I hope they give us two weeks’ notice before sending us back out into the real world. I think we’ll all need the time to become ourselves again. And by “ourselves” I mean lose 10 pounds, cut our hair, and get used to not drinking at 9:00 a.m.

New monthly budget: Gas $0 Entertainment $0 Clothes $0 Groceries $2,799.

Breaking News: Wearing a mask inside your home is now highly recommended. Not so much to stop COVID-19, but to stop eating.

Low maintenance chicks are having their moment right now. We don’t have nails to file and paint, roots to dye, eyelashes to re-mink, and are thrilled not to have to get dressed every day. I have been training for this moment my entire life!

When this quarantine is over, let’s not tell some people.

I stepped on my scale this morning. It said: “Please practice social distancing. Only one person at a time on scale.”

Not to brag, but I haven’t been late to anything in over 6 weeks.

They can open things up next month, I’m staying in until February to see what happens to you all first.

Day 37: The garbage man placed an AA flyer on my recycling bin.

The spread of Covid-19 is based on two things: 1. How dense the population is. 2. How dense the population is.

Appropriate analogy: “The curve is flattening so we can start lifting restrictions now” = “The parachute has slowed our rate of descent, so we can take it off now”.

People keep asking: “Is coronavirus REALLY all that serious?” Listen y’all, the churches and casinos are closed. When heaven and hell agree on the same thing it’s probably pretty serious.

Never in a million years could I have imagined I would go up to a bank teller wearing a mask and ask for money.

Putting a drink in each room of my house today and calling it a pub crawl.

For the second part of this quarantine do we have to stay with the same family or will they relocate us? Asking for myself...

Enjoy your day. You don’t have anything else to do.

Ah! You've suffered the Covid Spread too I see. My scale said "One of you is going to have to get off."
