Could this THT part be replaced with a SMD counterpart?

I'm looking to replace this resettable fuse PTGL09AR390N0B52A0 with a SMD equivalent (if possible), but I haven't found an alternative. Could I use lower rating in series? This is used in a solid state relay output. See below I reverse-engineering schematic. Not sure what is connected to the output, but if the PTC is rated at 250V, it should be some 120V/ low current load.
