Hello! I'm curious about that type of motor in the image (on the left). It looks like a step motor but has only 2 wire - and +.
I tried to connect it with 9/15/23 V DC supplies but it didn't work.
Could somebody please explain this to me?
Thank you in advance!

It might just be a solenoid. What does the other side look like?

Here it is. I was told that together, they can be made into a drill or something, but I have no idea. And why are they serial wired like that? Are they both motors or a motor-gear box pair? I tried to rotate the one on the left and it's really hard to move.

My problem is that I don't know what is it operating voltage. Could you please give me some suggestions? It's resistance appears to be around 10 ohm when staying still. The short one, by the way. The long one was up and running at 9VDC.

The one with the short shaft is 22 VAC on some and some are 120 VAC
It's not DC

The one with a longer shaft closed a damper but I can't remember how it was powered
What I would do is find transformer with 20 volt AC output and test with it.

It will not run on DC
