hi guys. ive just answered this question and just wondering if part b) is the right answer. many thanks .

The time constant before you connect the resistor is 0 (if the source has 0 internal resistance). After you connect the resistor the voltage on the capacitor wont change so you dont need to calculate a time constant.

The current through the resistor is constant all the time after it is connected (if the problem is that what states) and will be 100/50000

As I read the problem, the capacitor and resistor are added at the same time. If so, the capacitor should act like a short passing all the current in the circuit with nothing through the resistor until such time as the cap begins to charge.
