Hi Friends

I have a portable dust extractor which i need to install. The unit itself is a 1KW 120VAC unit that i will need to install a transformer to use as my mains supply is 230vac i have attached a link of the transformer i intended to use from what i can see is that it is more than suitable but im just not sure of the VA ratings on this would 50VA be enough for this unit seeing as it is only a 1KW unit or do i need a bigger rated transformer. This is the only information i have available from the extractor legend plate and cannot test the amperage until i get a transformer

thanks guys

1kva minimum needed.
You may get one of these from a local electrical supplier.

1Kw on 120v = 1000w/120v = 8.4amps.
Or roundabout way ,1Kw is 8.4a x 120v =1000 w or ~1Kva.
